For years now, schools and public libraries everywhere have kept a supply of the Career Ideas for Kids and Career Ideas for Teens books on their bookshelves. Sure, they were (and still are!) a great resource for students working on research projects or those curious about what people do.
But, they also pack enough educational oomph to provide multi-faceted learning experiences that provide plenty of practice in critical 21st century skills.
It’s time to get those books off the library shelves and put them to work in your classroom!
Use them as part of a career planning unit, as a meaningful "hook" to engage students in a robust action-based project, or as a supplement to a core academic subject.
